At Cunningham Gardens, planting is approached with technical understanding and careful consideration. Whether implementing our own design schemes or working from detailed external specifications, we ensure every planting plan is executed with accuracy, sensitivity and an appreciation for long-term development.

A key strength of our planting service lies in our ability to source and procure the highest quality trees, specimen plants, mature topiary, shrubs and perennials. We work closely with trusted specialist growers and nurseries to secure plant material that meets exacting standards in form, health and provenance; an essential factor in delivering refined, enduring landscapes.

Through our access to our sister company and nursery, Nepeta England, we are able to provide carefully cultivated plant stock and specialist varieties suited to country estates and large private gardens. This relationship allows us greater control over plant quality and consistency, ensuring that the material installed reflects both the scale and ambition of the project.
Our work ranges from expansive herbaceous borders and mixed shrub planting to structural tree installation, parkland planting and naturalistic meadow style schemes. Soil preparation, planting methodology and spacing are undertaken with careful attention to root establishment, drainage and future growth habit, safeguarding plant health from the outset.
Specimen tree and topiary planting is carried out with appropriate pit preparation, staking systems and irrigation consideration where required, recognising the long-term architectural role these elements play within a country garden.
Beyond installation, we provide considered aftercare guidance and ongoing maintenance support to ensure successful establishment and sustained vitality.
